Our Story

Inside an 1851 Kingston landmark.

Cafe Le Matin sits inside LaSalle Mews — the Georgian limestone row designed by city hall architect George Browne and standing on Princess Street since 1851. It's family-run: the same people work the counter, bus the tables, and cook in the back. All-day breakfast, the same hot poached eggs and bottomless coffee year after year. TripAdvisor calls it a hidden gem; regulars just call it morning.

What people say

A hidden gem on Princess Street.

A traditional poached eggs with sausage, home fries, toast and coffee is as good as anywhere in downtown.
— TripAdvisor review
The food at Café le Matin is very good — tasty, hot when served, and there is plenty of food for the money you pay.
— TripAdvisor — Kingston regular
This place is really a hidden gem in Kingston.
